- The agenda of the technical mission included exchanges with the French public and private ecosystem, with an emphasis on operational efficiency, sustainability and governance.
- This cooperation is part of a financing program that promotes resilient infrastructure and more efficient and sustainable utility services.
EPM, as part of its cooperation with the Agence Française de Développement-AFD, participated in a technical mission in France aimed at exchanging knowledge for the modernization of water distribution networks and the digitalization of utility services.
The agenda, which took place in Paris, Angers and Nantes, from March 8 to 14, included technical meetings, specialized visits, business-to-business (B2B) meetings and participation in the Latin America Forum, organized by Business France. These spaces contribute to strengthening the Company's technical and strategic knowledge, identifying opportunities for improvement and learning about concrete solutions related to operational efficiency, sustainability, governance and solutions applied to the management of essential services such as water and energy.
“The technical exchange with French institutions and companies leaves us with lessons that strengthen our capacities and help us to continue making informed, responsible and long-term decisions, always with the purpose of providing more efficient, safe and reliable utility services for the communities and territories where we operate," said Alejandro Escudero Sañudo, head of Information Management Aqueduct and Sewerage EPM.
This cooperation is developed within the third credit agreement, currently in negotiations with the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of Colombia, with the French Development Agency. This reflects a strategic relationship in which France, through AFD, acts as an investor and technical ally of EPM. This long-term financing promotes investments in innovation, sustainable development, smart and inclusive territories and the strengthening of institutional capacities.
With this mission, EPM and AFD advance a joint agenda that combines technical assistance and responsible investment, contributing to the provision of utility services with quality, continuity, coverage and reliability.
